Are you looking for MOT IV for your vehicle?

Most vehicles over three years old must pass an annual MOT test to stay road-legal as per the DVSA regulations.

Your vehicle's compliance with environmental and road safety regulations is determined by this required test.

This test must be taken at an authorised testing centre.

DPR Motors MOT and Service Centre Ltd is a DVSA-approved MOT centre conducting MOT checks Nottingham for class 4 vehicles.

Our facility houses a group of highly experienced technicians who are certified to conduct MOT inspections while carefully adhering to the DVSA regulations.

So, if your car's MOT is due, please call us.

Book an MOT online

You can also book an appointment for MOT online with us. All you need to do is provide your vehicle's registration number and select a time at your convenience.

Class 4 vehicles

At our workshop, we conduct MOT checks Nottingham on class 4 vehicles which include the following:

  • Taxis
  • Motor caravans
  • Three-wheeled vehicles with an unladen weight that is more than 450 Kg
  • Dual-purpose vehicles
  • Ambulances
  • Passenger vehicles with up to 8 seats

About our Class 4 MOT

Our experts will first check your vehicle's MOT history to gain insight into your car's overall condition.

We will conduct class 4 MOT Nottingham by inspecting the following vehicle components:

  • Tyres and wheels
  • Exhaust system
  • Brakes
  • Car suspension
  • Seatbelts
  • Clutch
  • Internal and external lights
  • Windscreen and wipers
  • General body structure
  • Horn
  • Number plates
  • and more

After the necessary checks are conducted as per DVSA regulations, we will issue one of the two certificates:

VT20

The VT20 certificate, also known as the MOT pass certificate, indicates no major or dangerous issues with your car.

VT30

A VT30 certificate is issued when your vehicle has any dangerous or major issues. It also indicates that your vehicle has failed the test.

If your car fails the annual MOT, we will discuss the reasons for the failure with you. You can opt for post-MOT repairs from our garage after which we will conduct a partial retest free of charge.

Please note this must be done within 10 working days of the actual test date, otherwise the re-test will be chargeable.

Classification of issues under MOT

If your vehicle fails its yearly MOT, you will be given a VT30 certificate highlighting all the problems that contributed to the failure. These issues are divided by DVSA into the three groups listed below:

Dangerous

These problems will immediately result in the MOT failure. Such problems could seriously impair the performance of your car and jeopardise your and other road user’s safety.

Major

Any major problems with your car also result in an MOT failure. If you want to legally drive on UK roads, you must fix these issues.

Minor

Your vehicle will pass the MOT test with only minor issues. These defects show that your car has no serious problems that do not immediately impact your driving safety. We still advise you to have these issues fixed as soon as possible, though. Minor faults will be recorded in the system and being looked at carefully during the next test.

Note: You cannot drive with a failed or expired MOT certificate. You will only be allowed on the road in case you are driving to a test centre with an MOT appointment.
